Why are stickers so expensive ?

The most expensive part of a sticker is the stock (the paper or vinyl its printed on), then, depending on what you're going to use the sticker for, the process of printing can also be very expensive. Don't assume that just because you want a two colour sticker, that it's going to be cheaper than a full colour sticker. Below you will find some of our standard sticker specifications and prices.

Full Colour Stickers kiss-cut on a sheet

These stickers are printed on a large format printer, on a large sheet, which prints 1.3m across. The media is printed full colour, once printed, the media is pulled back through the machine, and kiss-cut with a precise blade, which follows the desired contour of the sticker. Supplied cut down to handlable sheets (A3/A4) with X amount of stickers per sheet.

Kiss-cut - this means that the sticker is cut to shape, but not the backing. It means that the sticker can be removed from the sheet, without effecting the rest of the sheet. It also means that the sticker can be any shape you want. Printing this way, gives a very cheap alternative to more traditional methods of printing stickers (hot foil/screen printed etc). The sticker vinyl is called MD5 from Metamark. It can be used to stick to anything, windows, cars, lampposts, children... Anything,

Here's a simple price matrix which shows how many stickers fit into a linear meter, and the cost of 500 and 1000 stickers will be.

Special note - the area of a sticker is defined by it's width times height - so the area of a 35mm square sticker, will be the same as a 35mm diameter circle - as will be the same as a special shape (a clown face for instance, where its widest point measures 35mm and it's tallest point measures 35mm) - These stickers can be ANY SHAPE you like.

Full Colour Stickers kiss-cut on a sheet - Specification

• Sticker Size: Any (ideally suited for small stickers - perfect for circles and ovals)

• Print process: Printed full colour on a Roland VersaCamm 1300mm wide using solvent inks

• Artwork: supply artwork 'one up' with a cutter guide as a 5th colour
• Minimum order: £45 or one linear meter

Full Colour Stickers (kiss-cut on a sheet) Price List

Want a different size...? Work it out yourself, its easy. The width of our sticker machine is 1300mm - so the area of a linear meter is 1,300,000 mm sq'd

Now work out the area of your shape, add a couple of mm each way to be safe. Then divide the total area (1,300,000) by your shapes are (max width x max depth) = the approx. amount of stickers to a linear meter = £45. Bargain.

Stickers on a roll

If your required sticker or label is more specific than a full colour sticker like those above, then we may need to quote it as a bespoke job. A two colour sticker, of a specific shape, which you need to be easily peelable to attach to a product. A label with variable numbering, with a matt surface which will take pen... All these differences can effect costing's dramatically.

It maybe a simple 'hot foil' job, where you can pick from a variety of different colour base stocks, then hot foil the ink over the top, black, white, silver... Rule of thumb, if you need some stickers on a roll, the it's not going to be cheaper then £120.

Bumper Stickers

Bumper stickers can be placed directly onto products, vehicles, machinery or any dry surface. The adhesive is on the back of the sticker, and we print onto white or clear removable self-adhesive vinyl or permanent self-adhesive vinyl. Our inks and materials are fully lightfast and weather resistant, so suitable for outdoor all weather-use.

This makes them ideal for: Exterior of cars, vans, trailers / Hard hats /Outdoor sports equipment / Outdoor and indoor machinery / Recycle Bins, Wheelie Bins & Skips / Surfboards and Skateboards / Underwater equipment such as dive tanks / Watersports equipment / Bikes, lampposts... anywhere.

We sell any quantity of stickers starting from 100 through to 10,000's. We can quote on almost any size of sticker - the table below shows 4 different stock sizes. If you cant fit your design into one of these sizes, then just ask, but bare in mind, we use these sizes because they fit to our print sheets and are therefore most cost effective.

We can even print onto the removeable back (terms and conditions etc)

A great effect possible from one of these stickers, is to print on clear vinyl, with a white base, to the shape of your design, then apply other colours, leaving clear vinyl around the design - giving the impression the sticker has been diecut to shape (which of course it hasn't, but is a damn sight cheaper).

Window Stickers

Window stickers are placed on the inside of the glass to be viewed from the outside. This makes them ideal for any window applications including glass doors, shop windows and car windows. They might be used in a car window, as a membership sticker, in a shop window as a 'discount here' sticker or 'Thingies Stocked Here' for example.

Window stickers are reverse-printed onto clear vinyl (if a solid white or coloured background is required, this is printed as a solid flood so no clear sticker visible or shadow the artwork to give the sticker shape). The white base is already included in the prices below. A white base is needed for the required colours to be visible on the clear sticker, without looking translucent.

You can choose from static-cling vinyl, removable self-adhesive vinyl or permanent self-adhesive vinyl's. We would recommend 'permanent' for a secure fix (permanent isn't really permanent... it just lasts longer)

We can also print double sided stickers so you can view the same or different design through both sides of the window or glass door. An easy way to cost a double sided sticker, is to increase the amount of colours being applied (it's printed in layers, think of a sandwich)

Large Address Labels

These labels are to give your outgoing post, or deliveries a much more professional look. These labels are to be stuck to your outgoing item, then hand written with the recipients address. The label will include your brand, your design, and some white space (if required) to add the address. Certain stocks can also be fed back through your deskjet printer, to have their address added (not suitable for feeding through laser printers)

Small Address Labels

The classic 'address label'. Used to identify anything that belongs to YOU. Your CD's, your books, your kids books... Or maybe to customise a flyer, maybe you're contact details have changed and rather then scribble out the old, just affix a new address label. Available in simple white paper, with black print, or clear vinyl with black print.
